Danny Bergan Memorial Foundation

The MonSTaR committee would like to acknowledge the continued contribution of the Danny Bergan Memorial Foundation (DBMF) towards the success of the MonSTaR Foundation.

Danny Bergan lost his battle with MND in 2007 and his ‘sons’ Daniel Bergan and Stuart Jamieson committed to Danny that they would do what they could to help raise funds to find a cure for MND.

After hosting some memorial events for a few years the DBMF discovered MonSTaR and set out to form a partnership that would see all proceeds from DBMF go to MonSTaR. Danny Bergan was passionate about finding a cure plus also helping kids in any way possible so the joint fundraising efforts of MonSTaR was a perfect match for DBMF.

This partnership has remained in place since that first meeting and it continues to grow each year. The energy that the team at DBMF put into their fund raising efforts is nothing short of inspiring.

They have worked hard to contribute over $1.1 million to the MonSTaR Foundation over the last 12 years.

What started as a heartfelt promise to Daniel’s dad, has now become a powerful fundraising force in his memory.

The Danny Bergan Memorial Foundation raised $125,000 last year from their annual Golf Day held in January and 100% of these proceeds were donated directly to the MonSTaR Foundation.

We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all that they do.

We also would like to thank their Golf Day Partner in Optus and all of their other major sponsors, family and friends who kindly donate their time and money to a great cause.

Together they are also making a big difference!
